Dean’s Leadership Launch is a new, yearlong onboarding and leadership development program designed to support new deans as they transition into their roles. The program goes beyond traditional orientation by combining institutional learning, peer mentorship, and executive coaching to help deans build relationships, understand university systems, navigate culture and complexity, and align their colleges with institutional priorities.
Built around three pillars, Core Knowledge & Institutional Context, Dean Mentorship, and External Executive Coaching, the program provides structured learning opportunities, confidential peer support, and individualized leadership development throughout a dean’s first year. Key outcomes include stronger role clarity, institutional fluency, strategic alignment, early trust-building, and reduced leadership transition risk.
The program follows a yearlong progression from pre-arrival planning through year-end reflection, creating a consistent framework to support leadership success while establishing a scalable model for future dean cohorts.
