Assistant Professor Momentum

The Assistant Professor Momentum Series is a two-part series designed to support assistant professors as they continue building clarity, confidence, and direction in the early years of their faculty careers. Offered once in the fall and once in the spring, the series provides practical guidance, reflective space, and connection with colleagues navigating similar career stages. The fall session will focus on promotion, tenure, and retention, helping assistant professors better understand expectations, documentation, timelines, and strategies for making visible progress toward long-term career goals. The spring session will broaden the focus to thriving and succeeding as an assistant professor, with attention to topics such as managing workload, building productive relationships, finding mentors, sustaining scholarly momentum, navigating institutional culture, and making intentional choices about time, energy, and opportunity.
