Faculty Development Collaborative

Faculty Development Collaborative

Who We Are

The University of Alabama has multiple avenues for faculty to access professional development resources. The purpose of the establishment of the Faculty Development Collaborative is to work together within the University to support faculty in teaching research, service, leadership and well-being.

Vision

We aim to empower and equip faculty to thrive personally and professionally.

Mission

We invest in faculty development and resources so they can make a significant impact through teaching, research, and service.

What is Faculty Development?

We view faculty development from a holistic perspective addressing the lifespan of a faculty member. We also define faculty development as activities that enhance a faculty member’s knowledge, skills, values related to the whole-faculty perspective (teaching, research, service, leadership, well-being).

Our First Steps

We meet monthly to communicate and collaborate on existing faculty development opportunities. We want to be able to find effective ways to communicate to faculty campus wide about these opportunities. We want to support your ongoing efforts and projects of faculty development and support you in communicating those efforts. As we work on establishing effective ways of communicating the numerous opportunities for faculty development, we will be reaching out to hear your (audience specific) perspective.
