Human Resources plays a pivotal role within the organization by offering valuable resources and support to employees who are contemplating retirement, aiding them in comprehensive retirement planning and facilitating a smooth transition into this significant life phase.

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entitles eligible employees at The University of Alabama to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons with continuation of applicable insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.

The Department of Human Resources houses the Employee Handbook which covers all employees at the University, as well as, policies which apply to Faculty and Staff.
